The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the immediate suspension of Dr. Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency. The suspension follows serious allegations of financial misappropriation and official misconduct.
This development was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday in Benin City, the state capital, by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor. According to the statement, a special committee will be constituted by the government to thoroughly investigate the allegations leveled against Dr. Oahimire.
In the interim, the statement directed the most senior staff member of the agency to assume leadership in an acting capacity until the investigation is concluded and further decisions are made based on the committee’s findings.
