President Tinubu Presents ₦47.96trn 2025 Budget, Prioritizes Security

On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presented a proposed national budget of ₦47.9 trillion to a joint session of the National Assembly for the 2025 fiscal year. This budget, referred to as “The Restoration Budget: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity,” outlines the government’s strategic focus on fostering security, development, and economic recovery.

Providing a breakdown of the proposed allocations, President Tinubu announced that ₦4.91 trillion is earmarked for Defence and Security, reflecting the administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and addressing pressing security challenges across the nation.

Additionally, ₦4.06 trillion has been set aside for Infrastructure, aimed at enhancing critical national assets and driving economic growth through improved transportation networks, power supply, and public utilities.

The Education sector is slated to receive ₦3.52 trillion, signifying a push toward improving the quality of education and increasing access to learning opportunities. Meanwhile, ₦2.48 trillion has been allocated to the Health sector, focusing on strengthening healthcare systems and ensuring accessible and affordable medical services for citizens.

The 2025 budget underscores the administration’s dedication to creating a stable and prosperous Nigeria by addressing key priorities through substantial investments in security, infrastructure, education, and health.
