JUST IN: Tinubu Gives Nigerians Free Train Rides For Two Weeks To Celebrate Christmas

President Bola Tinubu has approved free train rides across the country from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025, as part of efforts to reduce transportation costs during the Christmas and New Year festive season.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this announcement while addressing State House correspondents in Abuja.

He explained that the initiative aligns with the President’s commitment to easing the financial burden of transportation, particularly for vulnerable Nigerians, during the holiday period.

Idris further stated, “As we did last year, there will be free train services for all Nigerians from December 20 up until January 5. This is consistent with the President’s desire to cushion the effects of transportation costs, especially for the most vulnerable citizens.”

He also noted that similar measures were implemented during the previous Christmas and Sallah celebrations, emphasizing that the approval for this year reflects President Tinubu’s continued concern for the welfare of Nigerians.
