Chief Chukwuemeka Orjiakor Condemns Cult-Related Killings In Nibo, Sympathizes With Affected Parents, Calls for Caution

Chief Chukwuemeka Nkem Pat Orjiakor, the Managing Director and CEO of Stelconic Properties Limited, has condemned the recent cult-related killing that took place in Nibo, Awka, in the Awka South Local Government Area on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

In an interview with NewdayReporters on Monday, Chief Orjiakor expressed his deep disappointment, stating, “This is a shameful and distasteful incident to be associated with Nibo. The people of Nibo have always been known for their loving and peaceful nature, and it is unfortunate to hear such tragic news coming from a community with such a positive reputation.”

He stressed the importance of youth abandoning cultism and focusing on productive activities such as hard work and craftsmanship. According to Chief Orjiakor, there are numerous youth empowerment programs available for young people in the state, and they must take advantage of these opportunities.

He urged young people to recognize that cultism does not benefit anyone and often leads to the loss of lives, stressing that, “It is senseless for anyone to cut short their life for the sake of cultism.”

Chief Orjiakor used the occasion to call on youths across Anambra State to learn from this tragic event and exercise caution, avoiding the pitfalls of cultism.

He also appealed to the police to strengthen the state’s security infrastructure to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Furthermore, Chief Orjiakor called for cooperation among all stakeholders in Anambra State, urging them to support Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s ongoing efforts to combat insecurity. He highlighted the importance of a more robust partnership between the police and local vigilante groups to effectively tackle such challenges.

In addition, he encouraged wealthy and influential individuals to contribute to the state’s human capital development initiatives by empowering youths in their communities. Adding that by providing them with meaningful employment opportunities, these efforts would help keep young people engaged and productive.

Chief Orjiakor pledged that the Onwa Nibo Chukwugoziri Movement, an initiative he founded, would continue its work to ensure that more youths in Anambra are empowered and become valuable contributors to society.
