Prioritize The Interest Of The Common Man – Chief Chukwuemeka Orjiakor Tells Newly Elected Anambra Council Leadership

Chief Chukwuemeka Nkem Pat Orjiakor, CEO of Stelconic Properties Limited, has urged the newly elected Local Government Chairmen and councilors in Anambra State to focus on the needs and interests of the common man in their constituencies.

In an interview with NewdayReporters on Thursday, Orjiakor emphasized the critical role of the new council leaderships, stating, “The new leaders must fully understand their responsibilities. They need to recognize that they are the government at the grassroots level and should tailor every action and policy toward improving the lives of the everyday people on the streets.”

He elaborated on the purpose of local government, saying, “The original design of local government is to bring governance closer to the people. Therefore, my primary advice to the new leadership across the 21 local governments is to prioritize the interests of the common man and pursue this agenda vigorously, while also ensuring good governance and effective representation at the grassroots level.”

When asked for his thoughts on the new Anambra Local Government Administration Law, Chief Orjiakor acknowledged that he had read extensively about the legislation and its intended goal of enhancing governance at the local level. However, he admitted that he had not yet had the opportunity to examine the law in detail.

He said, “While I have read a lot about it, I must confess that I have not seen the law in its entirety. I will share my insights on it once I have had the chance to review the new legislation myself.”
