Bobrisky Initiated The Call To Ask For N3 Million To Pay Officials For Permission To Stay In The VIP Section Of The Prison – Rapper Falz Clears His Name, Gives VeryDarkman 24-hour Ultimatum To Withdraw Defamatory Statement

Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz and the son of prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, has initiated legal action against social media influencer VeryDarkMan over defamatory remarks involving him and his father. These comments were related to an alleged involvement in a case concerning Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Falz, through the legal firm Falana & Falana Chambers, issued a formal demand for VeryDarkMan to retract the defamatory statements within 24 hours. The demand was contained in a letter sent by the law firm, which insisted on an immediate retraction and public apology for the allegations made in a post on Instagram dated September 25, 2024.

In the post, VeryDarkMan accused Femi Falana and his son Falz of attempting to secure a presidential pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for the sum of N10,000,000. Specifically, the post suggested that Femi Falana had contacted Bobrisky in an effort to influence the outcome of justice and obtain a pardon for financial gain.

Falana & Falana Chambers described these claims as “vicious, wicked, and reckless,” emphasizing that they were clearly intended to damage the reputation of boththe senior lawyer and his son. The letter firmly rejected the accusations, clarifying that he never initiated a conversation with Bobrisky and in fact, he (Bobrisky) initiated the call.

The legal notice further explained that the defamatory statements implied that Femi Falana’s legal practice was compromised by personal financial interests, a serious violation of the Legal Practitioner Rules of Professional Conduct in Nigeria.

In their communication, Falana & Falana Chambers reminded VeryDarkMan of his constitutional right to freedom of expression but underscored his obligation to ensure the accuracy of any claims he makes public.

They warned that the influencer must immediately retract the false allegations and issue a public apology, published on all platforms where the defamatory content was shared.

Failure to meet these demands within the specified 24-hour period, the letter warned, would result in legal proceedings, including claims for monetary damages. The law firm urged VeryDarkMan to act quickly to avoid further legal consequences.
