APC Victory In Edo A Sign That Nigerians Are Happy With Me, My Economic Policies – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its success in the recent governorship election in Edo State, asserting that this victory reflects the approval of his administration by Nigerians. He stated that the outcome serves as a testament to the people’s endorsement of the ruling party, its progressive values, and its initiatives aimed at economic reform.

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, conveyed this message in a statement released on Sunday. In his remarks, President Tinubu commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for facilitating a transparent and fair election process. He urged any individuals or groups who feel aggrieved by the election results to pursue legal avenues for redress.

The President emphasized that the election results are indicative of the citizens’ support for the APC, highlighting the party’s commitment to uplifting the Nigerian populace through its economic strategies. He called on Senator Okpebholo, the elected governor, to approach his victory with humility and to view it as an opportunity for service.

Tinubu encouraged him to extend a hand of cooperation to his political opponents and work towards uniting the people of Edo State for its development.

Additionally, President Tinubu acknowledged the contributions of all candidates who participated in the election, recognizing their role in promoting democracy in Nigeria. He noted that peaceful electoral contests, such as the one held in Edo, are a sign of the country’s stability and democratic maturity.

He further commended the citizens of Edo State for their orderly and peaceful behavior during the election, which he sees as a positive indication of Nigeria’s democratic evolution over the past 25 years.

President Tinubu expressed his gratitude to INEC and security agencies for their tireless efforts in ensuring a successful and largely smooth electoral process, reaffirming INEC’s dedication to conducting free and fair elections in Nigeria.
