Bandits Attack Catholic, Other Churches In Southern Kaduna, Abduct Pastor and 30 Others

A devastating attack on two churches, an ECWA and a Catholic church, occurred in Bakinpah-Maro, Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Sunday.

The assault, carried out by bandits, resulted in three deaths and the kidnapping of 30 individuals, including Pastor Bernard Gajera. According to Cafra Caino, former chairman of Kajuru LGA, the bandits arrived in large numbers around 10 am.

This incident follows recent community efforts to establish a security post and address persistent security concerns affecting farming activities.

In a separate development, Nigerian Army troops rescued 13 kidnapped victims and neutralized several insurgents in Kaduna State. The troops responded to intelligence reports and engaged the bandits in a gun battle, leading to the successful rescue of the hostages.

Commissioner Samuel Aruwan confirmed the recovery of dangerous weapons from the terrorists and the rescue of six men and seven women.

The rescued victims received medical examination and debriefing before being reunited with their families.
