JUST IN: Senator Ali Ndume Tender’s Apology For Criticising Tinubu
Former Senate Chief Whip, Ali Ndume, has publicly apologized to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for his comments on President Bola Tinubu’s administration during a live TV interview.
Ndume was removed from his position as Chief Whip after stating that Tinubu was “caged” and unaware of the hardships faced by Nigerians.
He has since been replaced by Senator Tahir Monguno.
Ndume met with the APC’s National Working Committee and apologized for not consulting the party before making his statements.
He expressed regret for any embarrassment caused and acknowledged that his observations should have been shared with the party first.
Despite apologizing, Ndume stands by his comments, stating they were made out of patriotism and concern for the country.
He clarified that he did not insult the President or speak against the party.
The APC has accepted Ndume’s apology and plans to write to the Senate to reconsider his removal as Chief Whip.
National Chairman Umar Ganduje expressed satisfaction with Ndume’s apology and hopes for a review of his position.
Ndume denied speculation that his party membership was withdrawn, stating that the party is his “father” and he has not been expelled.
He also waved aside questions about apologizing to the President and Senate, stating that they were not involved in the matter.
The APC views the situation as a family issue and is working to resolve it.
Ganduje emphasized that the party is free to invite legislators and members to discuss issues and resolve conflicts.
