The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, is set to administer the oath of office to 12 new judges of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
This announcement was made by Dr. Festus Akande, the Director of Press and Information at the Supreme Court, and reported by Channels Television on Sunday.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at 10 am in the Main Courtroom of the Supreme Court. Among the 12 judges to be sworn in is Ariwoola Oluwakemi Victoria, the daughter-in-law of the Chief Justice.

Previously, on May 17, 2024, the National Judicial Council (NJC) recommended 86 judicial officers for appointment to various federal and state courts across Nigeria.
These recommendations were made during the NJC’s 105th plenary meeting, held on May 15 and 16, 2024, by the Interview Committee on Appointment of Judicial Officers of all Superior Courts of Record in Nigeria. This was disclosed in a statement by Soji Oye, the NJC’s Director of Information.
