Kaduna APC Stakeholders Dump El-Rufai, Declares Full Support For Governor Uba Sani

Amid the ongoing political conflict between former Governor Mallam Nasir el-Rufai and his successor, Senator Uba Sani, the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Kaduna State have declared their support for the current governor.

The tension between Sani and el-Rufai has escalated, leading to the Kaduna State House of Assembly probing el-Rufai’s administration.

The APC stakeholders made their position clear during an Executive Committee meeting held at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Hall in Murtala Muhammad Square, Kaduna. During this meeting, party leaders passed a vote of confidence in Governor Sani.

The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Kaduna State APC chairman Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada (rtd), former governor Ramalan Yero, several APC House of Representatives members from Kaduna State such as Hon. Muktar Chawai, Hon. Bashir Zubairu, Hon. Ahmed Mannir, and Hon. Bello El-Rufai, as well as the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Liman Dahiru, and all APC members in the State House of Assembly.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser for Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Musa Krishi, the APC Deputy Vice Chairman for the North West, Hon. Datti Garba Muhammad, initiated a motion for a vote of confidence in Governor Sani.

The motion was seconded by Hon. Yakubu Barde, a former House of Representatives member for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, and was unanimously supported by the Kaduna APC leaders present at the meeting.

“APC Deputy Vice Chairman, North West, Hon. Datti Garba Muhammad, moved a motion for a vote of confidence on Governor Uba Sani, which was seconded by Hon. Yakubu Barde, a former House of Reps member for Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency.

The motion was unanimously endorsed by the Kaduna APC leaders at the meeting,” the statement read.

In his remarks, Abbas expressed optimism about the future of the APC in Kaduna, citing the high caliber of individuals uniting within the state’s party chapter.

He assured party members that there would be no rift between him and Governor Sani throughout the governor’s tenure.

Abbas reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Sani, emphasizing that only Allah knows the true strength of their relationship.

He urged the governor to maintain their good relationship, highlighting that their unity would bring more development and stability to Kaduna State.

Abbas congratulated Sani on his successful first year in office and praised his efforts to unite all ethnic and religious groups in the state.

Regarding the ongoing constitutional amendment by the National Assembly, Abbas called on the people of Kaduna State and the six other North Western states to review the constitution and suggest areas for amendment.

He mentioned that a platform would be provided for the public to contribute their inputs to the process.

Governor Sani, in his response, commended the Speaker for his achievements in his first year as Speaker, acknowledging the complexity of leading the House of Representatives.

Sani assured APC members in Kaduna that his administration, in collaboration with Abbas, would strive to include every party member in their initiatives.
