Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State has announced significant initiatives to support National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members stationed in the state.
During the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream I corps members at the NYSC camp in Paiko, Niger State, Governor Bago pledged several benefits.
These include a N5 billion commitment from the state government for the construction of a new permanent NYSC orientation camp.
Additionally, each corps member under Batch B Stream I will receive a N200,000 bonus from Niger Farms to enhance their comfort during their stay in the state. This bonus totals approximately N320 million for all 1,600 corps members.
Governor Bago also promised automatic employment opportunities in the medical field upon the completion of their service for interested corps members.
He emphasized the state government’s dedication to ensuring the security and welfare of all corps members and encouraged them to participate in the state’s agricultural initiatives, supported by Niger Foods Limited.
