The Federal Government has officially announced that Monday, June 17th, and Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, will be observed as public holidays in celebration of Eid-ul-Adha this year.
Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary of the ministry, conveyed this information in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.
The declaration was made on behalf of the Federal Government by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, both within Nigeria and abroad, on this significant occasion.
He emphasized the importance of embracing values such as peace, kindness, and sacrifice, which were exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
Additionally, he urged the Ummah to use this period for prayer, seeking unity, prosperity, and stability for the nation.
The Minister affirmed the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s administration to ensuring the safety and protection of all Nigerians and their property.
He concluded by wishing the Muslim community a joyful Eid-ul-Adha celebration and urged all Nigerians to collectively strive towards leaving a prosperous legacy for future generations.
