The business magnate highlighted that the enactment of this new law will facilitate the conduct of local government elections in the state after a prolonged period of over ten years.
He emphasized that this action underscores the governor’s role as a promise keeper, fulfilling his campaign pledge to hold local government elections within his first two years in office.
Orjiakor voiced his satisfaction and approval of the governor’s efforts, noting that Governor Soludo’s actions thus far reflect a determined leader dedicated to honoring the commitments made to the people of Anambra during his campaign.

The executive bill was introduced and sponsored by the Majority Leader and Honourable Member Representing Ekwusigo State Constituency, Hon. Engr. Sir (Dr) Ikenna Sylvester Ofodeme.
This bill is anticipated to establish the procedures for the effective conduct of local government elections, aiming to restore and ensure genuine democratic governance at the grassroots level.
