Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has returned to the studio following his recent release from police custody.
Portable, who gained notoriety for his controversial persona, teased fans with a preview of his upcoming track titled “Spiderman,” produced by 2tuponthebeat.
The song seems to reference his recent run-in with the law, where he evaded arrest by allegedly leaping over a gate, symbolizing his “flying power.”
In a widely circulated video, Portable, dressed in a distinctive white and black striped shirt, was seen alongside several others as he scaled a gate to escape apprehension.
After spending a day in custody, the “Zazuu” singer secured his release after meeting the bail conditions.
This isn’t Portable’s first brush with controversy. Back in March 2023, he made headlines when the Ogun State Police Command arrested him for allegedly cursing and assaulting police officers in viral video clips.
Despite being summoned by the authorities for questioning, Portable declined to cooperate, leading to his eventual arrest following a 72-hour ultimatum.
Additionally, Portable faced legal troubles when he was apprehended by law enforcement in Ogun State and subsequently charged with five counts, including assault and theft, at the Ifo Magistrates’ Court.
Following his time in detention at the Ilaro Correctional Centre, he was granted bail after meeting the specified conditions.
