Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has expressed that his administration is aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” emphasizing that both governments share similar goals and are working towards the same objectives.
Although Otti was elected on the Labour Party (LP) platform and Tinubu leads Nigeria under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Otti underscored the collaborative spirit between the two administrations.
During a visit from Dr. Salma Ibrahim, Special Adviser to the President on Health, and her team, Governor Otti affirmed Abia State’s commitment to working with the federal government to enhance healthcare services for the state’s residents.
He noted that despite differing political affiliations, the goals of both administrations, particularly regarding healthcare, are closely aligned.
Otti highlighted several achievements in Abia State’s health sector, such as a substantial budget allocation for healthcare, the restoration of accreditation for the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, the clearance of health workers’ salaries, and efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality rates.
He expressed that these initiatives reflect the shared priorities between his administration and the federal government’s renewed hope agenda.
Dr. Ibrahim, in her address, emphasized the importance of partnership between the state and federal governments to advance health sector initiatives outlined in President Tinubu’s agenda.
She called for continued efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality and assured that the federal government would support Abia State’s health policies.
