Tinubu Approved N90 Billion To Subsidise Cost Of 2024 Hajj – Shettima Tells Nigerians

During the 2024 inaugural hajj airlift at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi capital, Vice-President Kashim Shettima revealed that President Bola Tinubu had approved N90 billion to subsidize the cost of the 2024 hajj pilgrimage.

Shettima explained that the decision was made due to challenges in announcing the final hajj fare for the year, primarily caused by fluctuating foreign exchange rates.

He emphasized Tinubu’s commitment to controlling the downward spiral of the local currency to bring relief to Nigerian pilgrims, which ultimately led to a reduction in the hajj fare.

Shettima highlighted Tinubu’s belief in the importance of religious pilgrimage, stating that it plays a crucial role in transforming individuals and addressing social vices.

According to Shettima, Tinubu’s administration carefully selected individuals of integrity and administrative acumen to manage the affairs of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, ensuring the well-being of Nigerian pilgrims.

He reassured that the government closely monitored all arrangements for the safety, security, and comfort of Nigerian pilgrims, both in Saudi Arabia and within the country.

Shettima urged Nigerian pilgrims to pray for the progress of Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that collective prayers and individual contributions are essential for the prosperity of the country.
