Anambra State Government led by Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has issued a stern warning to detractors vandalizing state governments project. This came after a young man was caught on camera pouring water into the Ochanja water fountain, which is yet to be commissioned.
The governor’s media aide, Ejimofor Opara, announced this on Facebook, stating that the government is vigorously pursuing the individual responsible for vandalizing the fountain.
A video, circulating on the internet and seen by NewdayReporters, shows a middle-aged man with a water keg pouring water into the fountain, while someone records the act from the background.
The video has since gone viral, with many netizens condemning the action. However, some have criticized the governor for the fountain’s inability to function.
In response, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Adichie Izuchukwu, took to his social media handle to denounce the video.
He dismissed it as scripted and claimed it was a mischievous attempt by the opposition to tarnish the governor’s reputation, despite his ongoing developmental efforts in Onitsha and across Anambra State.
