During separate meetings, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, met with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido.
Atiku shared photos of his meeting with Obi on his social media handle, expressing his honor and privilege to host him.
According to Tanko Yunusa, the LP presidential campaign spokesman, Obi visited these political figures to discuss the “state of the nation.”
Concerned about the increasing uncertainty and the living conditions of the poor and underprivileged, Obi discussed various issues, particularly focusing on reducing the suffering of all Nigerians, regardless of class or location.
Emphasizing the desperate conditions faced by the downtrodden, the discussions also highlighted the worrisome situation in the northern parts of the country.
It’s worth noting that Obi was Atiku’s running mate in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 presidential election.
However, ahead of the 2023 poll, Obi left the PDP and joined forces with the Labour Party (LP).
In the 2023 presidential election, Atiku ran under the PDP, but he lost to President Bola Tinubu.
Meanwhile, all eyes have already shifted to the upcoming 2027 presidential election.
