HAPPENING NOW: Sharia Court In Bauchi Sentences Man Caught Practicing Homosexuality To Death By Stoning

In a recent ruling by a Sharia Court in Ningi, Bauchi State, a middle-aged man named Abdullahi Sani, hailing from Unguwar Makara Huta, was condemned to death by stoning for the alleged crime of homosexuality.

The verdict, delivered on May 10, 2024, by Sharia Judge Abdullahi Aliyu Doya, found Sani guilty as charged.

Judge Doya revealed that the court proceedings began on May 2, 2024, and concluded on May 9, 2024, at which point judgment and sentencing were determined after considering various arguments presented.

The verdict was based on witness testimonies and the admission of guilt by the defendant, Abdullahi Sani.

The judgment was in accordance with sections 131, 132, and 133 of the Bauchi State Administration of Criminal Justice, 2001, which dictate the punishment for such offenses.

This is not the first time such a judgment has been passed; on July 1, 2022, three individuals were also sentenced to death by stoning for a similar offense.
