Amazon Prime Video’s original film, “Breath of Life,” secured the prestigious Movie of the Year award at the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
The Nigerian drama, released in 2023, dominated the ceremony held at the Eko Convention Center, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, on Saturday, clinching victories in five award categories.
Produced by Eku Edewor and directed by BB Sasore, “Breath of Life” features an ensemble cast including Wale Ojo, Chimezie Imo, Genoveva Umeh, Demola Adedoyin, and Sam Dede.
The movie triumphed in the highly contested Best Movie category, surpassing tough contenders such as Funke Akindele’s “A Tribe Called Judah,” “The Black Book,” and “Blood Vessel.”
In addition to the Movie of the Year award, “Breath of Life” received accolades in four other categories:
Best Lead Actor: Wale Ojo
Best Supporting Actress: Genoveva Umeh
Best Supporting Actor: Demola Adedoyin
Best Director: BB Sasore
