All The Current Political Parties, Politicians Cannot Save Nigeria – Pat Utomi

Professor Pat Utomi has revealed that two categories of Nigerians are coming together to form a mega platform aimed at challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential elections.

Utomi, speaking to journalists, criticized Nigeria’s political party system, stating that it has failed and does not serve its democratic purpose.

He emphasized that the current political landscape makes it difficult for good people to maintain their integrity in government.

Utomi stressed that neither the APC nor any existing opposition party could redeem Nigeria.

According to Utomi, the formation of a new political order is imperative to rescue Nigeria.

He highlighted the need for citizens and leaders to adopt values such as integrity, work ethics, respect for human dignity, and a commitment to the common good. Utomi underscored the importance of a mindset shift from self-interest to collective well-being.

To advance this agenda, Utomi announced plans to establish a mega party, with meetings scheduled in Lagos and Abuja.

He explained that the party would be formed by two groups of politicians: the “mea culpa” cohort, consisting of politicians who acknowledge and regret their past actions that did not benefit Nigeria, and the “new value” cohort, comprising individuals committed to a new way of doing politics. Utomi also mentioned that the mega party would include input from elder statesmen.
