Speaking in an interview with NewdayReporters on May Day, he emphasized the crucial role played by Nigerian workers in the country’s socio-economic development, despite the daunting economic realities they face.

Orjiakor acknowledged that workers are the backbone of the nation’s economy, highlighting that the successful implementation of government policies relies heavily on their commitment and collaboration.

He emphasized the need for continuous improvement in the nation’s economic and political development through adequate motivation, including increasing salaries to match the rising cost of living and ensuring timely payment of salaries by employers.

In his words, “It would be inhumane to withhold workers’ pay given the current economic reality. Therefore, there is a need to increase salaries and ensure prompt payment to workers.”
