Hope At Last As Governor Soludo Through Commissioner Ify Obinabo Vows To Intervene In Case Of Awka-Etiti Woman Refused Burial By Son Since Four Years Of Death

In a distressing report, Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare led by Hon. Ify Obinabo, has resolved to intervene in a lingering issue in Awka-Etiti, Anambra State where a woman has been left in limbo for four years following her demise, with her son, one Isaac Okonkwo, adamantly refusing to bury her until certain conditions are met.

The deceased, who passed away on January 7th, 2020, has yet to find rest as her son, citing property disputes, insists on withholding burial rites until the family relinquishes all assets left by their mother.

The heart-wrenching plight came to light when the woman’s distraught daughter spoke out, revealing the family’s harrowing ordeal. According to her account, their late mother tirelessly endeavored to support her son, only to face disappointment due to his alleged indolence, causing further anguish to the family.

Amidst the turmoil, a glimmer of hope emerges as the Anambra State Government pledges intervention.
