Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, emphasized in a recent interview with Channels Television that the administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot be expected to resolve the extensive challenges facing Nigeria’s power sector, which have accumulated over five decades, within a mere year.
Adelabu stressed the need for patience, stating that while progress is being made consistently and gradually, the complex nature of the issues means that quick fixes are unrealistic.
He acknowledged the frustration among Nigerians, particularly in light of the recent electricity tariff hike affecting Band A customers, which has sparked discontent and protests from various sectors, notably the Organized Labour Unions, who are advocating for a reversal of the decision.
