Former House of Representatives member Hon. Mohammed Idris, the son of ex-Kogi State Governor Ibrahim Idris, passed away in Abuja on Wednesday.
Reports indicate that he collapsed at his residence shortly after participating in Eid-il-Fitir prayers. Mohammed represented Ankpa, Olamaboro, and Omala Federal Constituency before his demise. He is set to be laid to rest at Gudu cemetery in Abuja following Islamic customs.
In a separate incident, the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom in Lagos State, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, aged 64, also passed away after returning from Eid prayers on the same day.
The chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olasoju Adebayo, confirmed the monarch’s death, announcing plans for his burial at his palace in Isolo, adhering to Islamic rites.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive was cited in the formal announcement of Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka’s passing.
