The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has extended his warmest congratulations to Muslims across the nation on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, which signals the completion of the holy month of Ramadan, and called for peace and unity in the country.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Tony Olisa Mbeki, Ezeokenwa called on Muslim faithfuls to pursue peaceful coexistence with fellow Nigerians.
Barr. Ezeokenwa, expressed profound joy and solidarity with Muslims during this time of celebration, reflecting on the significance of Eid-el-Fitr not just as an end to the fast of Ramadan, a sacred spiritual obligation as one of the five pillars of Islam, but as a moment of gratitude, renewal, and commitment to the values of charity, community service, and love.
“This year’s Eid-el-Fitr arrives as a beacon of hope, offering us a chance to reflect on our shared humanity and the strength found in our collective faith and unity,” said Barr. Ezeokenwa. He underscored the importance of this year’s celebrations as a time for all Nigerians, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds, to come together in the spirit of peace, forgiveness, and mutual respect.
The APGA National chairman also took the opportunity to prompt governments to prioritize the security and welfare of Nigerians as enshrined in Section 14(2b) of the 1999 constitution as amended and called on President Tinubu to take immediate steps to stem the tide of senseless killings targeting innocent Nigerians. He reiterated his call on the National Assembly to expedite action on the decentralization of the nation’s security architecture.
