Honorable Chibueze Ofobuike, the Transition Committee Chairman of Aguata Local Government, recently inaugurated a new block of apartments to serve as staff quarters for the Principal and Staff of Community Secondary School, Akpo.
The announcement was made through a Facebook post shared by Hon. Ofobuike on Monday.
The post highlighted the fulfillment felt in commissioning the well-built block of flats, a project quietly undertaken by Mr. OG Chuma, a prominent philanthropist and community developer in the area.
This initiative underscores Mr. Chuma’s dedication to enhancing education and the overall welfare of young individuals within Aguata.
Notably, Mr. Chuma’s contributions extend beyond education, as he has also facilitated the construction of roads, provided empowerment programs benefiting thousands, and offers monthly stipends to senior citizens aged 70 and above in the Akpo community.
Hon. Ofobuike expressed gratitude for Mr. Chuma’s generosity and emphasized the invaluable impact of his philanthropy on the community.
Furthermore, Hon. Ofobuike detailed his recent engagement with HRH Igwe (Arc) Jonathan Okpalaezecha (Nnamoshimiri), the traditional ruler of Akpo, and the town union executives. Their discussions focused on environmental sustainability and the enhancement of social infrastructure within the community.
Highlighting Akpo as a model community within Aguata LGA, Hon. Ofobuike reiterated his commitment to collaborative efforts with local communities for the betterment of the people of Aguata.
According to him, this collaborative approach aims to address various challenges facing the people as well as promote sustainable development initiatives in the region.
