The Jigawa government has approved N2.8 billion to feed the needy and vulnerable people in the state during Ramadan.
Sagir Musa, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, said this in a statement on Thursday in Dutse.
Mr Musa said the decision was taken at the executive council meeting on Wednesday, March 13.
The information commissioner said the gesture was to ease hardship caused by the current hike in the cost of food items in Nigeria.
He said the government had also approved 609 feeding centres across the state for Ramadan feeding, saying that a minimum of two centres had been approved for each of the 287 wards of Jigawa.
