Dan’agundi Transmission Station, a major electricity supply chain for Kano city, northwest Nigeria, was gutted by fire on Sunday.
It was learnt that the fire had damaged high-capacity transformers while emergency responders were being awaited to put out the fire.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained.
A video of the incident posted on X on Sunday evening shows black smoke billowing into the sky.
