The CEO of Stelconic Properties Limited has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for hearing the cry of the poor masses and addressing the lingered ARTMA complain by residents of the state.
He said this in a brief media chat with NewdayReporters on Monday night.
According to him, “the governor has shown that he is a leader that listens. He listens to what the people are saying. Because this ARTMA issue has been subject to public discuss in recent times. I am happy with the things he said and his plans to address the public dissatisfaction permanently.”
“I will also use this opportunity to plead with our brothers and sisters in ARTMA to be civil while discharging their responsibilities so that we all, will have a state we can all enjoy.” He said
Hon. Orjiakor also praised the governor on his efforts to improve security in the state, having deployed a joint team of security forces that has brought about significant improvement in security since he assumed office.
The erstwhile deputy chairman of Awka South Local Government hailed the governor for his exploits with regards to road construction in the state, pointing out that his government had since declaring a state of emergency on roads shown commitments to their promise of constructing 400 kilometers of roads before the end of the year.
It can be recalled that Governor Soludo had earlier today instructed that “Until we conclude the road markings and indicators, I have directed ARTMA not to charge not more than 5,000 Naira for any road traffic offence”.
The Governor said this while addressing Ndi Anambra on his quarterly “Chat with Mr Governor”, an interactive session with ndi Anambra on Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS).
Governor Soludo noted that the law is being worked upon, to check the excesses of officials of ARTMA, explaining that in the coming weeks, the state government will commence marking on Anambra roads, to differentiate between red zones and free zones for motorists, directing that effective, September 5, 2023, nobody should be fined more than five thousand Naira for traffic offences by ARTMA untill the road marking is completed.
