The Chairman/CEO of Stelconic Properties Ltd, Chief Sir Chukwuemeka Nkem Pat Orjiakor, on Sunday commended Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for his swift response to security situations in the state.
He spoke in Awka yesterday after his special thanksgiving service at Our Saviors Anglican Church Parish, Awka.
Addressing the fear generated last week across the state over the rumoured attack by unknown gunmen enforcing the one week sit-at-home order by a group of Biafra agitators, Chief Orjiakor recalled that quite a lot has changed in Anambra State for the good of the masses saying that when people talk about insecurity in the state, he’s reminded of the fact that Governor Soludo was once a victim of gunmen attack prior to the governorship elections but he’s been impressed on how the governor fought through that incident and the worsening security challenges at the time to bring the state to the safety net it enjoys today.
The former deputy chairman of Awka South Local Government Council said he is satisfied with the measures put in place by the governor to contain the situation in the past months as according to him security situations has greatly improved.
“Personally i am impressed with the measures the governor has put in place to check the security situation in the state. In the past few months, we have relative peace in the state.
He said the situation had encouraged investment drive to surge in the state as people want life where there’s security.
“If you watch in the state now, you will see the rise of investment awareness. The rise of real estate development, coming of new industries and businesses amongst others. It is because of the improvement of security situations in the state. Because nobody goes where his life or business will not survive. So the governor is trying in that aspect and we must give him his flowers where he’s doing it well, truth be told.”
Hon. Chukwuemeka Orjiakor commended the Governor’s courage adding that if he was lily livered he would have been unable to engage in the security war that has brought relative peace to the state now compared to what it was when he took office.
He called on the federal government to support the state security apparatus in the fight against insecurity so as to complement the governor’s efforts to deliver a safe and liveable society for Ndi Anambra.
