Popular Nollywood actor and film director Obinna Nwafor better known as Saint Obi has died after a battle with an unspecified illness.
Sources said Mr Nwafor, famously known for his role in blockbuster movies including ‘Candle Light’, ‘Goodbye Tomorrow’, passed away last week Sunday and the actor’s body was subsequently deposited in a morgue at the Jos University Teaching Hospital.
It was reported Mr Obinna, what have been treating an unspecified illness and had visited the Teaching Hospital for treatment for months before his demise on Sunday.
Saint Obi who hailed from Mbaitolu in Imo State. A University of Jos Theatre Arts graduate died aged 57.
The actor, burst into the movie industry in 1996 after featuring in a commercial for Peugeot on NTA. He went on to feature in more than 100 movies including ‘Sakobi’, ‘Festival of Fire’, ‘State of Emergency’ and other popular films.
