After the first outing of Introducing The Kujus, producers of the movie are out with the sequel, The Kujus Again, and we had a chance to see the movie.
The Kuju Again tells the story of how the family gathered again, this time they gathered at a hotel resort for the traditional wedding of Mauyon and Lily; but things quickly take a turn for the worse when underlying tension meets unfortunate incidents as money and people go missing.
Stars of ITK who also reconnected in the new sequel include Bisola Aiyeola, Femi Jacobs, Bimbo Ademoye, MC Lively, Kunle Remi, Timini Egbuson, Mimi Onalaja, Chris Iheuwa, and Ronke Odusanya.
In this sequel, we also saw Don Jazzy playing the character, Don.
It was exciting seeing Don, the maverick producer/ artiste extraordinaire, transition smoothly from acting in comedy skits into the big screen.
Don Jazzy offers a fresh charm and a new twist to the well-loved family drama.
The multi-talented actor gave us more reasons to crave the sequel, and he made sure it was worth it.
Unlike Domitilla Reboot, The Kujus Again brought back the riveting intrigues and drama that kept fans glued to the edge of their seats.
The movie, in different ways, proved that sometimes siblings would be at loggerheads, never agree and practically hate each other but will do anything for each other when needed, no matter the cost.
The Kujus Again reaffirm the family bond, despite the differences and disagreements.
Although, it was obvious they were out to promote a particular resort in Badagry, but it was fun seeing all the drama that played out.
We were also yarning to see much of Bimbo Ademoye, but she had less to do throughout the movie.
The parts of looking for Lily’s parents dragged on and become boring.
And the concluding part, what in the name of traditional marriage is that? Lol..
One thing is for sure, for comedy movies in Nigeria, don’t expect the script to really make sense. Enjoy the comics as much as you can, and don’t be disappointed if your high expectations are not met. The Kujus Again is one of those movies.
It’s a 7/10 rating for us.
