Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Manchester United ahead of a potential summer transfer, according to Turkish journalist Serdar Çelikler.
Speaking on a podcast, Çelikler stated, “Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement with Manchester United. But there is also the club side of the matter,” indicating that while the player has agreed to terms, the two clubs are yet to finalize the transfer.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray, has been in outstanding form this season. The Nigerian international has scored 29 goals and provided six assists in 34 appearances across all competitions, making him one of the most prolific strikers in Europe.
Manchester United are said to be prioritizing the signing of a top-tier striker in the upcoming transfer window. Their current forward, Rasmus Hojlund, has struggled to make an impact, managing only three goals in the Premier League throughout the season. With newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim reportedly keen to offload Hojlund, the club is actively seeking a reliable replacement.
While Osimhen and Manchester United have agreed on personal terms, discussions are ongoing between United and Napoli over the final transfer fee. The 25-year-old striker has a release clause set at €75 million (£63 million), but it is believed that Napoli may be open to negotiating a lower fee to facilitate the deal.
Juventus, who have maintained a long-standing interest in Osimhen, are also in the mix. However, Napoli are reportedly unwilling to sell one of their top players to a direct domestic rival, which significantly boosts Manchester United’s chances of securing the Nigerian’s signature.
