The primary election, which took place at the iconic Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, was conducted in a peaceful, well-coordinated atmosphere that reflected the maturity and strength of the APGA political structure. A total of 3,175 delegates, drawn from the 326 wards across Anambra State, were duly accredited to participate in the exercise.

At the end of the voting process, 3,172 valid votes were cast in favor of the incumbent Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, affirming him as the party’s standard-bearer for the upcoming November 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election.

In a statement released shortly after the declaration of results and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Tony Olisa Mbeki, Barrister Ezeokenwa extended warm congratulations to Governor Soludo, noting that the overwhelming endorsement by delegates was a powerful reflection of grassroots support and the governor’s performance in office.

He described the process as “historic, transparent, and deeply democratic,” commending the delegates for their orderly conduct and sense of responsibility throughout the exercise. He also lauded the APGA Electoral Committee for organizing a flawless primary that showcased the party’s commitment to best practices.

“This primary election is a reaffirmation of APGA’s deep-rooted values of internal democracy and respect for due process. It has once again proven that APGA remains a party of the people, driven by the people, and governed in the interest of the people,” Barrister Ezeokenwa remarked.

In his vote of thanks, Governor Soludo expressed profound gratitude to the delegates, the party leadership, and the entire APGA family for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to continue delivering quality governance and used the opportunity to officially announce that his current Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, would once again serve as his running mate.

Barrister Ezeokenwa concluded his remarks with a call for unity among all party members, aspirants, and supporters, urging them to come together in solidarity to ensure a resounding victory in the forthcoming election.
