APGA National Chairman, Ezeokenwa, Commends Tinubu For Advancing Infrastructure Development In The Southeast, Hails Flag-Off Of Second Niger Bridge Link Road

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to national infrastructure development, particularly in the Southeast region. He lauded the President’s efforts following the commencement of key road projects aimed at enhancing connectivity around the Second Niger Bridge.

President Tinubu, on Tuesday, officially flagged off the construction of a 17.5km × 2 dual carriageway at Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State. This major infrastructure project will serve as a vital link between the newly constructed Second Niger Bridge and the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway (Phase 2B, Contract No. 8793).

This milestone comes just a day after the flag-off of Phase 2A of the project, which focuses on constructing an access road connecting Delta and Anambra States to the Second Niger Bridge.

APGA’s Endorsement of the Project’s Economic Impact

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Tony Olisa Mbeki, Barrister Ezeokenwa described the road project as a crucial development that will unlock the full economic potential of the Southeast and South-South regions. He emphasized that the Second Niger Bridge was designed to facilitate trade, commerce, and regional connectivity, and the construction of these access roads will ensure the bridge serves its intended purpose.

The APGA National Chairman reaffirmed that his party, as Nigeria’s leading progressive political movement, has always been at the forefront of advocating for infrastructural expansion and human capital development. He highlighted how President Tinubu’s renewed focus on infrastructure aligns with APGA’s core principles, which emphasize the importance of strategic investments in roads, bridges, and public services to drive sustainable economic growth.

Recognition of Governor Soludo’s Developmental Efforts

Barrister Ezeokenwa further commended the progressive leadership of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, acknowledging his commitment to infrastructural transformation and human capital development in Anambra State.

He noted that Governor Soludo’s administration has remained dedicated to urban renewal, road construction, and social investment programs, all of which complement the federal government’s ongoing infrastructure drive. According to him, the collaborative efforts between the state and federal authorities will further accelerate Anambra’s economic and social advancement, reflecting APGA’s overarching commitment to the development of Nigeria as a whole.

Call for Sustained Collaboration

Barrister Ezeokenwa urged that as APGA continues to champion inclusive governance and regional development, there should be continued cooperation between federal and state governments. He stressed the need for efficient execution and timely completion of these critical infrastructure projects, ensuring that they deliver maximum benefits to Nigerians, particularly in the Southeast and South-South regions.

Through collaborative governance and progressive policies, he assured that Nigeria can achieve sustainable development, boost economic growth, and improve the overall quality of life for its citizens.
