CONFIRMED: NYSC Begins Payment Of New ₦77,000 Monthly Allowance To Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially commenced the disbursement of the revised monthly allowance of ₦77,000 to corps members across the country. This marks a significant increase from the previous ₦33,000 stipend, fulfilling the Federal Government’s promise made six months ago.

Several corps members serving in different states have confirmed to NewdayReporters that they have started receiving the updated allowance.

This development follows an earlier report by NewdayReporters five days ago, in which the new NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General OO Nafiu, assured corps members during an address in Abuja that they would begin receiving the new allowance starting from March 2025.

Additionally, the Minister of Youth, Ayodele Olawande, reaffirmed the government’s commitment, stating that corps members will not only receive the new ₦77,000 stipend but will also be paid any outstanding backlog of the revised allowance. He assured that the NYSC already has the necessary account details of corps members, and those with pending payments will definitely receive their arrears as promised.
