Ambakaderimo Criticizes President Tinubu’s State Of Emergency Decision

Prominent critic Ambakaderimo has openly condemned President Bola Tinubu’s decision to declare a state of emergency, asserting that the situation remains under control and does not justify such drastic measures.

He cautioned that imposing a state of emergency could escalate tensions, potentially leading to guerrilla warfare, a scenario he believes Nigeria is unprepared to handle.

Furthermore, Ambakaderimo suggested that the ongoing crisis in Rivers State may have been exacerbated by grievances among former militants who were previously involved in pipeline surveillance contracts. According to him, some of these ex-militants had been sidelined in recent contract allocations, possibly prompting acts of sabotage against the pipeline as a way to highlight their dissatisfaction.

He urged the federal government to conduct an urgent review of the pipeline surveillance contracts to promote inclusivity and fairness among all stakeholders. Additionally, he pointed out that only two out of the six trains of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) facility are currently operational, leading to a significant shortfall in gas supply.
