Chief Chukwuemeka Orjiakor Condoles With Victims Of Afia Mgbede Market Inferno, Calls For Improved Emergency Response

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Stelconic Properties Limited, Chief Chukwuemeka Nkem Pat Orjiakor, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims of the tragic fire outbreak that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at the popular Afia Mgbede Motor Parts Market, Nnewi, Anambra State.

Speaking to newsmen in Awka, Chief Orjiakor expressed deep sorrow over the devastating incident, describing it as both unfortunate and disheartening. He lamented the massive destruction caused by the inferno, which reportedly left several shops in ruins and turned valuable goods and properties to ashes, pushing the affected traders into a state of despair and financial hardship.

Reflecting on the broader implications of the tragedy, Chief Orjiakor described it as a significant loss, particularly given the prevailing economic challenges facing the nation. He urged the affected traders to remain resilient and steadfast in their faith in God, praying that they recover all they have lost in multiple folds.

In his words, “This fire incident at Afia Mgbede Market is a tragic and unfortunate event that has brought immense pain and hardship to the victims. However, I encourage them to hold on to God during this difficult time, trusting that He will restore all that has been lost.”

He expressed gratitude that no lives were lost in the fire, emphasizing that this was a silver lining amid the tragedy. Chief Orjiakor also called on the victims to draw strength from the indomitable Igbo spirit, urging them to overcome this setback and rebuild their businesses with renewed determination.

He appealed to the Anambra State Government to prioritize investments in emergency fire response infrastructure. He stressed the importance of enhancing fire prevention and response mechanisms to minimize the impact of similar incidents in the future.
