His decades of commitment to APGA have earned him the reputation of being a “grassroots warlord” and an influential stakeholder. A Certificate in Media Entrepreneurship from Lagos Business School, A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, A Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Public Administration from Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), An MBA in Marketing, an MSc in Human Resource Management, and a PhD in Human Resource Management, all from ESUT.
He is also a Fellow of the Advertising Profession in Nigeria and an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Dr. Emecheta’s illustrious career spans multiple sectors, including public relations, advertising, and political strategy. His journey began with global management training under Sheraton/ITT, where he supervised operations at Nigeria’s first Sheraton Hotel. He later joined Patike Communications Ltd., founded by Professor Pat Utomi, serving as an Associate Director. There, he worked with high-profile clients, including a former Vice President and the World Bank.
In addition, Dr. Emecheta has held several leadership roles working as the Managing Director of Sunrise Advertising Limited and Founder and CEO of Macclemm Marketing Communication Ltd.
His expertise in reputation management includes managing the public profiles of Senator Annie Okonkwo, Dr. Edwin Onwudiwe, and Adamu Ciroma. He also collaborated with an SSA to former President Buhari to manage the public profiles of notable politicians within the current federal government.
Dr. Emecheta’s contributions to APGA are unparalleled. As the Chairman of the Willie Obiano Support Group when Support Group was not fashionable, the largest support group in Anambra State, he played a vital role in the election of former Governor Willie Obiano. Similarly, he served as the National Chairman of Anambra Demands Soludo now Anambra Deserves Soludo, one of the three major groups that mobilized massive grassroots support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s victory in the 2021 gubernatorial election.
For eight years, Dr. Emecheta served as the Managing Director of the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, where he oversaw critical government events, including independence celebrations and political rallies.
His work in public relations and advertising extended to managing events for major corporations and contributing to policy formulation. Notably, he was part of the first committee to develop a tourism policy for Nigeria.
