Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has confidently declared that he will leave office without fear of any investigation or prosecution from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or any other authority.
Speaking during the Feast of Christ the King Mass held at the Government House Chapel in Owerri, the governor challenged anyone with credible evidence of misconduct against him to come forward.
Governor Uzodimma asserted, “I will leave office a free man, able to sleep soundly with both eyes closed, without fear of anyone, including the EFCC.” He further emphasized his commitment to transparency and accountability, claiming he has fulfilled all promises made to the people of Imo State.
The governor expressed confidence in the enduring impact of his administration, which he described as focused on fostering prosperity, enhancing infrastructure, and upholding the dignity of the state. He reiterated his belief that his government’s efforts will leave a lasting legacy for the people of Imo.
This statement comes in the wake of recent developments involving the EFCC, including the arrest of former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over allegations of misappropriating N1.3 trillion in public funds.
Governor Uzodimma’s comments appear to underscore his confidence in his administration’s integrity amid heightened scrutiny of public officials in Nigeria.
