Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N990 to N970 per litre. The announcement was made on Sunday via a statement issued by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer.
In the statement, Chiejina emphasized that the price adjustment was a gesture of appreciation to Nigerians for their continuous support throughout the refinery’s journey to becoming operational. He described the move as a way of showing gratitude as the year draws to a close.
“This price reduction is our way of expressing gratitude to the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in helping make the Dangote Refinery a reality,” Chiejina stated.
He also extended thanks to the government, acknowledging its role in fostering an enabling environment for the refinery’s success. According to him, this measure is aimed at complementing existing policies designed to promote domestic enterprise and enhance the collective welfare of Nigerians.
Furthermore, Chiejina reassured the public of the refinery’s commitment to producing top-quality petroleum products that are both environmentally friendly and sustainable.
He added that Dangote Refinery is dedicated to increasing production levels to not only meet but surpass the country’s domestic fuel consumption needs, thereby eliminating concerns about potential supply shortages.
“We remain resolute in ensuring that our petroleum products maintain the highest quality standards, and we are committed to ramping up production to ensure sufficient supply for the nation,” he concluded.
