The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has declared as unlawful the recognition and publication of Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a landmark ruling, the court held that there was no valid or existing judicial order compelling INEC to recognize Edozie Njoku in such capacity. Consequently, the court described INEC’s decision to recognize and list Edozie Njoku as APGA’s National Chairman on its portal as a violation of legal and procedural norms.
The court directed INEC to immediately delete the name of Chief Edozie Njoku and his associates from its records as National Officers of the party. It further instructed INEC to reinstate Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa and the National Officers elected during the APGA National Convention held in Awka, Anambra State, on May 31, 2024. These individuals were affirmed as the legitimate members of APGA’s National Working Committee.
This ruling underscores the supremacy of due process and reaffirms the leadership of Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa as the authentic National Chairman of APGA.
