President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala, who previously served as the spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, to the position of Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications (State House).
This announcement was made in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, who serves as Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
Alongside Bwala, President Tinubu appointed three other professionals to serve as directors-general of important national agencies. The details of the appointees are as follows:
Olawale Olopade has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Sports Commission. Olopade is a seasoned sports administrator who previously held the role of Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State. Additionally, he served as the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival, bringing substantial experience to his new role.
Dr. Abisoye Fagade is the new Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. Fagade is a veteran in marketing communications, known for founding and leading Sodium Brand Solutions, where he served as the managing director. His expertise in branding and communications is expected to benefit the tourism sector under his leadership.
Dr. Adebowale Adedokun has been named the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement. Adedokun previously held the position of Director of Research/Training and Strategic Planning at the same bureau, where he contributed to policy development and strategic oversight.
Daniel Bwala, who is also recognized as a lawyer and respected public affairs analyst, joins the President’s media team to strengthen public communications from the State House.
