Governor Nwifuru Approves ₦75,000 Minimum Wage For Civil Servants In Ebonyi

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has approved an increase in the minimum wage for civil servants in the state, raising it to N75,000. This announcement was made in a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Monday Uzor, and shared with Channels Television.

The statement clarified that this decision was reached after a thorough evaluation of Nigeria’s current economic challenges, particularly those affecting civil servants.

The Governor emphasized that this new minimum wage aims to enhance the financial well-being of the workforce. By addressing the rising cost of living, the increase will also provide workers with improved economic opportunities.

According to the new policy, civil servants on grade level 2 will be eligible to receive the full N75,000 minimum wage.

Meanwhile, employees on grade level 3 and above will benefit from an additional N40,000 wage increase across all levels.

The implementation of the N75,000 minimum wage is set to commence on Monday, October 28th, marking a significant development expected to positively impact the lives of Ebonyi State’s civil servants.
