APGA Condemns Alleged Misconduct And Assault By Abia House Of Reps Member, Ikwechegh

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has responded to a viral video depicting an alleged assault on a citizen by Alex Ikwechegh, the Honourable Member representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency. APGA, a political party committed to respecting human rights, strongly condemns the actions of Hon. Ikwechegh, who serves as a Federal Parliamentarian under the party’s platform.

In an official statement, signed by APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the party emphasized its foundational commitment to upholding human dignity across all classes, religions, and ethnicities. “The recent video allegedly showing Hon. Ikwechegh assaulting a cab driver is completely unacceptable and contradicts the core values of APGA,” the statement read.

The party announced its intention to launch a formal investigation into the matter. APGA’s leadership will establish a disciplinary committee to review the incident, and if Hon. Ikwechegh is found at fault, appropriate sanctions will be implemented in accordance with the party’s constitution.

The statement further stressed that all APGA members, including elected officials, are expected to uphold the highest standards of respect, civility, and integrity in both their public and private lives. APGA’s commitment to accountability remains unwavering, with Opara adding, “In APGA, we are our brother’s and sister’s keeper, and it cannot be any other way.”

APGA reiterated that it will not tolerate any verifiable behavior that contradicts the principles set forth by its founding leaders, underscoring its commitment to justice, decorum, and respect within its ranks.
