HARDSHIP: Nigerian Youths Should Work Hard, No Food For Lazy Man – Tinubu’s Wife

During a visit to the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu urged Nigerian youths to embrace hard work, emphasizing that “there is no food for the lazy man.” She highlighted that even God worked for six days before resting on the seventh, stressing that diligence is essential for progress.

Mrs. Tinubu was in Ile-Ife to inaugurate a hostel and a 2.7-kilometer road donated by the Ooni of Ife to Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ University (OAU). In recognition of her contributions, the road was named after her.

Speaking at the palace, the First Lady acknowledged Nigeria’s wealth of resources, describing the country as a land “flowing with milk and honey.” However, she stressed the importance of sustaining these resources for future generations through hard work and commitment.

She also noted that her family was already blessed before her husband’s rise to the presidency, and they are content with what they have.

Mrs. Tinubu further called on Nigerians to be patient with the current administration, assuring them that better days are ahead. She reiterated the government’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and ensuring that the country’s citizens are not let down.

Addressing the economic challenges facing Nigeria, she clarified that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has only been in power for less than 18 months and should not be blamed for the longstanding issues.

She pointed out that since the removal of the fuel subsidy, the government has been working diligently to stabilize the economy and improve the living conditions of the masses.
