The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of online registration for its 88 Regular Recruit Intake Exercise for Trades and Non-Trades men and women.
This exercise is for qualified candidates interested in joining the army. The army outlined the application requirements, method, and important guidelines, emphasizing that the registration process is free.
Candidates are strictly advised to submit only one application, as multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.
Application Process:
Interested applicants should visit the official recruitment website at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng to complete the online registration process, which will run from 30 September to 8 November 2024.
Basic Requirements for Applicants:
1. Citizenship and Marital Status: Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and must be single. They must possess a National Identity Card, NIN slip, or BVN.
2. Health and Fitness: Candidates must meet the Nigerian Army’s medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards.
3. Criminal Record: Applicants must have a clean legal record, free of any criminal conviction by a court of law.
4. Educational Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of four passes, including English Language, in not more than two sittings in WASSCE, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB.Tradesmen and Women: In addition to the above qualifications, those applying for the trades category must possess a TRADES TEST or CITY AND GUILD Certificate. 5. Birth Certificate: Applicants must present a valid birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission, a hospital, local government council, or provide an age declaration.
6. Age Limits:Non-tradesmen and women must be between 18 and 22 years of age by 31st December 2024.Tradesmen and women must not be older than 26 years by the same date.
7. Height: Male applicants must be at least 1.68 metres tall, while female applicants must be at least 1.65 metres tall.
8. State of Origin: A valid certificate of state of origin is required.Important Notes on Documentation:All submitted documents will be verified with the relevant issuing authorities. Candidates who provide fake documents will be handed over to the police for prosecution.
Application Method:
1. Visit the recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
2. Create an account using your username and password.
3. Complete the application form, submit it online, and print a copy of the completed form.
4. Download and fill out the Guarantor Form, then submit it alongside the application form at your designated state recruitment centre.
Screening Requirements:
There will be no pre-selection Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Screening will take place in each candidate’s state of origin; there are no special centres for recruitment.
Candidates are prohibited from bringing electronic or recording devices to the screening venue.
Original copies of educational certificates (Primary and Secondary) must be presented.
Candidates must not have any tattoos or bodily inscriptions.
Members of any cults, societies, or fraternities are disqualified.
Falsifying or forging results will result in the candidate being withdrawn from training, even if discovered later.
Offering bribes or inducements to facilitate the recruitment process is strictly prohibited.
Candidates must bring their NIN slip to the screening.
Screening Timeline and Shortlisting:
The list of shortlisted candidates who will participate in the screening will be published on the Nigerian Army’s website.
Shortlisted candidates will report to their respective states of origin for screening, which will take place from 5 to 19 December 2024.
