The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secured victory in all chairmanship positions during the Enugu State council elections held on Saturday. The Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), Prof. Christian Ngwu, announced the results, commending the commission for overseeing a free and fair electoral process.
PDP chairmen-elect expressed their joy following the victory. Hon. Aka Eze Aka, who won the chairmanship of Udenu Local Government, pledged to spearhead a “massive agricultural revolution” while also focusing on enhancing local infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Greg Anyaegbudike, the chairman-elect for Oji River Local Government, promised to prioritize youth empowerment through job creation and skills development initiatives.
However, opposition candidates were notably absent during ENSIEC’s announcement of the results, raising questions and speculation about the nature of the election’s outcome.
These victories support Governor Peter Mbah’s broader political agenda, strengthening the PDP’s influence and promoting the democratic process in Enugu State.
